AK story picked up by Eventhubs after PVS: Genesys win

12-year old Tekken Tag Tournament 2 prodigy AK has left people awed and amazed, wondering how a young kid like him can win tournaments consistently in a huge Tekken scene in the Philippines at such a young age. Apparently, this sentiment has also been shared internationally.

After winning the TTT2 in the recently concluded Eventhubs, one of the most popular FGC news sites in the world, picked up the story and posted an article.

To view the article, go to http://www.eventhubs.com/news/2013/jan/23/12-year-old-tekken-tag-tournament-2-player-wins-genesys-2013-tournament-philippines/.

We, at Team PanCan, would like to congratulate AK for his accomplishments, and thank him as well for promoting the local FGC is a very positive light.

PinoyVersus: Genesys 2013 Results

True to the event title's meaning, PinoyVersus' Genesys event became a showcase of gamers who very well might be the future of the local FGC, and also of a player who keeps on winning consistently.

In the main event, Dru stays on top as he beats Ron Lim in convincing fashion in Grand Finals of Super Street Fighter 4: Arcade Edition v2012. Dru's Dictator literally dictated the pace of the match, keeping Ron's Adon at bay and Ron kept getting hit trying to get in, an occurrence that will keep on repeating throughout the entire match, which led to his downfall.

Bifuteki's Winrich meanwhile went back all the way from 5-1 to beat Papable Peter 10-8 in Grand Finals of Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3. Resilience has been the key for WinRich, who lost on his very first match against Charles Leyson, but he kept on beating the competition until he sets himself up for a Grand Finals showdown with one of the best, if not the best, UMvC3 player right now. Peter seemed to be in complete control early on, but the prodigy who now resides in New York showed great maturity and kept calm and composed, and it worked to perfection, coming back to had his first lead at 7-6, and eventually winning the match 10-8.

In Tekken Tag Tournament 2, 12-year old child prodigy AK, proved to be too much for his older adversaries, as his mixed combination of aggression and discipline and grit became the winning formula in winning the tournament, besting HAPZ in the finals. Losing to Silver Heel in the early stages of the tournament, he beat Elite House's Nas, Mont, scav and Nakajima-Jed because getting his revenge by beating Silver Heel in Loser's Finals. In Grand Finals, AK kept coming back, eventually beating Hapz in the first set 3-2 to reset, then beating him again 3-2 to win.

All of the tournament winners took home a Plantronics Headset, as well as a Shirt made by Reset Clothing, and of course 70% of the pot money, while the runner-ups get 30% of the pot money.

Mark Daniel "MD" Fernandez takes home 1st place in this week's Friday Night Fights Tournament by PinoyVersus, beating Epi in grand finals.

In what has been a night of upsets, Willinden "Den" Uy, known for his consistency in placing high in tournaments, lost early on, losing to eventual finalist Epi. Another favorite, last week's winner JackBacoor also bowed out early, losing to RedP.

MD, however, refused to go with the flow and beat Zenith, Jekroland, Mistervader and finally Epi to win the tournament.

PinoyVersus: Friday Night Fights Results

JackBacoor takes home his 2nd Friday Night Fights tournament in a row, beating Rodel "Megamoves" Murillo. Jack's methodical Dhalsim play proved too much for Megamoves' Sagat, who interestingly enough, didn't switch to his pocket Rufus to counter Dhalsim.

With the victory Jack earned the pot money as well as the PinoyVersus shirt, which PVS promised to include if the number of participants reaches 12. The total number was 13.

The tournament bracket can be seen below:
