PinoyVersus Mini-Tournament Results: Dru Back On Top

After a lackluster performance at A2G's tournament a few weeks ago, Andrew "Dru" Martinez found his way back to the winner's circle.

Dru went undefeated the entire tournament, claiming the 1st ever PinoyVersus mini-tournament championship prize as well as a t-shirt provided by Reset Clothing.

Andrei "Andres" Buenaobra had an impressive showing as well, beating the stacked pool of entrants and claiming 2nd place. He goes home also with a shirt provided by Reset Clothing.

Rounding up the Top 8 are John Mark "Mael" Frianeza at 3rd, Odeplay at 4th, Mark Daniel "MD" Fernandez and Ron "Siopao" Lim at 5th, and Rodel "MegaMoves" Murillo and BeeJay "PanCan.Apeshit" Remigio at 7th.

Col.CC Filipino Champ and Friends Set to Visit Philippines, A2G

Addicted 2 Gamez' own Nelson Ngan recently announced that after EVO 2012 Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 Champion Ryan "Col.CC Filipino Champ" Ramirez' successful Philippine visit months ago, he will return this October. This time, he will bring his FGTV buddies with him.

FGTV mainstay CJ Showstopper is the first confirmed player to accompany FChamp in this visit. He, along with FChamp, represented NorCal in their historic victory against SoCal in the Aftershock special event held just recently. Also joining them are Neo and Hiro.

They will be in the Philippines from October 5 to 15, 2012 and will be playing at Addicted 2 Gaming located at University Mall in Taft, Manila. Between those dates, there will be numerous money matches and will conclude with the much awaited Philippines vs USA team match.

Team X-Over and Team PanCan to hold separate mini-events at Infinity Place on Friday

Team X-Over and Team PanCan will be holding separate events on Friday September 28, 2012 at Infinity Place in Taft, Manila.

Team X-Over will be doing a clinic for Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 to help newcomers get into the game.

Team PanCan, meanwhile, will hold casuals requested by American Mark Williams as he visits the Philippines.

PinoyVersus to run SSF4: AE Mini-Tournament

PinoyVersus will be having a mini-tournament on Saturday September 29, 2012 at iTech in Glorietta 3, Makati. The featured game will be Super Street Fighter 4: Arcade Edition v2012.

This mini-tournament, which gives PinoyVersus an idea on how they will approach organizing tournaments in the future, will be the first of many the group plans on organizing.

Registration starts from 12:30pm to 2:30pm and the actual tournament proper will start at 3pm. Registration fee is 100pesos. Arcade sticks will be provided at the venue but you are welcome to bring your own. The Tournament Champion will win the "Pot Money" and a Reset Clothing Shirt.

Team PanCan Officially Announces "Sudden Death" Event

After some changes with the tournament date and included games roster among others, Team PanCan officially announced its first ever organized event entitled "Sudden Death", named in accordance with the upcoming halloween.

The event, originally scheduled to happen on October 27-28, was changed to November 10-11 due to scheduling issues. The dates weren't the only ones changed as Team PanCan included another game to hold singles tournaments in: Tekken Tag Tournament 2.

Also changed are the rules to the "Royal Flush" Team Tournament. With the inclusion of TTT2, the originally scheduled 5-man team roster has now been expanded to 6, still one team representative per game. There will still be 5 max games per set, thus one game will be omitted per set. Team PanCan will announce the complete rules for the team tournament soon.

"Sudden Death" will take place at the Dalisay Basketball Court in Bacood, Sta. Mesa, Manila and will feature singles tournaments for Super Street Fighter 4: Arcade Edition v2012, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Tekken Tag Tournament, King of Fighters XIII, Mortal Kombat 9 and Persona 4 Ultimate, as well as the aforementioned "Royal Flush" Team Tournament. Entrance Fee is 50 pesos and Registration Fee for the 6 singles tournaments will be 150 pesos for each game. The Registration Fee for the "Royal Flush" Team Tournament will be announced soon.

6v6 Team Battle between MTM and P2D set

Pinoy2DFighters and Masters to Masters are set on a collision course this Saturday, September 22, 2012. Six of their best players are set to do battle in Super Street Fighter 4: Arcade Edition v2012 at Infinity Place in Taft, Manila.

Pinoy2DFighters will be led by A2G Tournament Champion Ron "Siopao" Lim and perennial top placer Ben "Striderben" Gonzales. Rounding up the team are Andrew "Insane" Bagay, Ode Play, Jojo "Rebel Spark" Resurreccion and Rico "Filipino Daigo" Mambo.

Raymund "Rei" Tan leads the Masters to Masters team, which also consists of Aaron Topacio, Andrei "Andres" Buenaobra, Paulo Balid, Paolo "Etuts" Castuera and JP "Zamby" Suico.
